Full Day Dhow Safari, Diani

On collection from your hotel, transfer to the Wasini jetty to board a traditional Arabian style “Dhow” boat with a qualified marine guide. This fabulous full day Dhow Safari to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park begins with a safety briefing.

As you catch the winds and sail towards the park, keep your eyes peeled for dolphins which are seen almost daily as well as the various aquatic birds. On arrival in the parks waters, equipment will be provided, and you can drop into the water ready for your swimming, diving or snorkelling adventure. Your guide will escort you through the park, at two different sites, pointing out all the exquisite marine life on show below the surface and allowing you to experience the diversity of the reef.

Immersing yourself in the Indian Ocean is like no other place you have been before as the world of beautiful coral reef and marine life reveals itself only feet below the surface. Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park has an extensive reef system which is home to turtles, stingrays, moray eels and over 350 species of vibrantly coloured tropical fish. If you are lucky you may spot whale sharks between 6 to 8 meters long and humpback whales between July and September.

Once you have had your fill of the kaleidoscope world below, sail to the beautiful Private residence and gardens of Wasini Island, a Robinson Crusoe hideaway, for an unforgettable traditional delicious Swahili seafood banquet lunch. After lunch, in the late afternoon, sail back along the coastline to your hotel and reminisce on a gorgeous day out.
