Holidays to Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is a protected natural area spread over 14,700 square kilometres with a plethora of wildlife and culture, breathtaking savannah grasslands, dense woodland and beautiful riverine forest. A must-see with opportunities to sleep under the stars in the grassy plains, witness the great migration of wildebeest and take in the ancient beauty of East Africa through its traditional tribes and cultures.

Catch some of the world’s most iconic animals as they eat, sleep, play and rest. Game drives are a huge highlight for many visitors and a fantastic way to explore the park and it's wildlife. Travelling the park in a 4x4, appreciate the chance to see animals including lions, hippos and cheetahs – you may even catch a glimpse of the rare black rhino. A special place to experience this is Moru Kopjes, a breathtaking formation of rocks that proudly rises from the central Serengeti. These Kopjes are fantastic for a range of animals, from rhinos and big cats to smaller mammals. Take a leisurely drive under clear blue skies and spot some wildlife with the help of an expert guide.

For something a little more secluded and off road, explore the Northern part of the park – particularly the areas of Lobo, Kogatende and Loliondo. These remote areas offer walking safaris, off-the-beaten-track expeditions and camping experiences, all with a much more wild feel than the typical destinations and usually at a more leisurely pace, meaning you won’t need to rush your experience.

Once you've got to grips with the Serengeti from ground level, why not take to the skies with a hot air balloon safari or a scenic sunset helicopter flight? The Serengeti will wow you once more as you behold the majestic plains and herds of wildlife from a unique aerial perspective.

However you decided to explore the Serengeti National Park, this is an area that will delight, amaze and surprise in equal measure.

Let's talk
I grew up near the picturesque fishing village of Rye, in East Sussex. However, my heart has always been in Africa since I was a young girl. Having a South African father meant my love for the history and colour of this fantastic continent has been a prominent part of my life, and so getting to travel to seven different countries over the last few years has been a dream come true. One of my highlights was flying in the famous yellow bi-plane across Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya.
