This honeymoon trip to Rwanda and Kenya includes international flights, a private car and driver, excursions, accommodation, breakfasts and some lunches and dinners.

From the first conversation until you arrive home from your holiday, you’ll be looked after by one of our Travel Designers who has travelled extensively in the region and will give advice from their personal experience on how to make the most out of your trip. All of our trips are entirely bespoke and we will continually refine your itinerary until it’s perfect.

General Tour

Board your flight to Nairobi and you can start celebrating your honeymoon straight away as you look forward to the trip of a lifetime. You arrive in Nairobi later in the day and check in to your hotel, the Hemingways Nairobi, and can indulge in some champagne, as you kick back and relax.

Maasai Mara

Wake up fresh and catch your transfer to the airport for your flight to the impressive Maasai Mara, known for its rolling hills and long grassy plains. Relax, as you're met on arrival for a shared transfer to your accommodation, Spirit of the Masai Mara, and then enjoy a delicious lunch in peace. In the afternoon you’ll get to experience your first game drive around the savannah wilderness of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. On your drive, you may spot zebras, lions, cheetahs, hippos or elephants, and depending on the season you may spot some wildebeest on their annual migration. Snuggle up in the evening and soak up the views as you enjoy a sundowner in the Siana Conservancy.

On day 3 and 4 continue your adventure with day and night game drives around the stunning Siana Conservancy for some more sightings of wildlife. Alongside this, enjoy a day trip to the Masai Mara Game Reserve for a change in landscape, then end your day with a walk-in nature and another sundowner to soak up the views. If you’re looking for something more indulgent, enjoy an optional hot air balloon ride to get a new angle on the beautiful scenery or pamper yourself with a luxury spa treatment.

General Tour

After all of that adventure, enjoy a more laidback day as you catch a transfer to the airport to fly to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, via Nairobi. You’ll be met at the airport and welcomed to your new accommodation, The Retreat by Heaven, for the night.

Day 6 is all about preparing! What do you know about gorillas? Would you know how to track one in the wild? Take a transfer to Ruhengeri to the base for gorilla trekking at Parc National des Volcans and learn all about it. Then enjoy a relaxing evening in your accommodation, Bishop's House, for the night.

By day 7, you’ll be raring to go, so you’ll drive to the park headquarters for the morning briefing. You’ll find out all about the etiquette of gorilla tracking and meet your local guides and trackers. From there your adventure begins as you take a hike into the forest to the spot where the gorillas were last seen the night before. You’ll proceed to track them through the forest from that point, using your new-found knowledge, and could trek from two to six hours depending on how active the gorillas have been. Observe the gorillas in their natural habitat for an hour before trekking back to the park headquarters. Enjoy lunch back at your hotel and then the afternoon is yours to do what you desire - whether you want to relax or explore some more!

Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast, explore the winding roads of the Albertine Rift for an opportunity to really witness the untouched beauty of Rwanda. Take your time and relish these views of the stunning scenery scattered with lakes, before arriving at your accommodation at Nyungwe House in the afternoon. Tonight, enjoy some time together and truly indulge in a private, romantic dinner.

Wake up fresh this morning as you take a forest trek around the largest mountain forest on the African continent and use your new skills to track chimpanzees. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for plenty of cheeky monkeys. After an eventful morning enjoy the afternoon at your leisure, and there’s plenty of optional activities to do! Discover your love of a hot tipple at the nearby tea factory, experience some culture with a walk around the cultural areas led by the expert guides, visit the store or fitness centre, or if you feel like taking it very easy then retreat to the spa and Jacuzzi for some pampering.

Drive back to Kigali with a stop-off in Butare to explore Rwanda’s National Museum, University and Research Institutes. From Kigali, you’ll catch your flight onwards to Mombasa where you'll transfer to the alluring coastal city of Diani. Here, you’re in for a treat, as you check into your luxury hotel, the Ocean Spa Lodge, where you can walk barefoot, unwind in the lounge beside the impressive infinity pool and rest in the tranquil atmosphere while soaking up the ocean views.

The next two days are entirely yours for you to decide what you most desire to do. Sink your toes into the white sand on the beaches, stroll along the coast, unwind beside one of the two pools or indulge in a massage or beauty treatment and the wood-fired sauna. If you’re feeling more active you could do some yoga, play a game of golf, enjoy a coast-side horse or camel ride, try your hand at water sports, test your fishing skills with a deep-sea fishing trip or explore the underwater world with some snorkelling or scuba diving. If you’re feeling more adventurous, hop on a boat for an excursion to ‘Paradise Lost Island’ to see what you can find, or take a shopping or sightseeing trip to Ukunda, or go on a visit to the cultural village of Kinondo. It’s never too late to head out on another wildlife adventure, with a game drive to the Shimba Hills National Reserve, for a final sighting of the impressive wild animals.

On day 13, transfer to Mombasa airport to catch your flight home, feeling relaxed and satisfied with your wildlife adventure.
