South Luangwa National Park
After you touch down in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, you'll jet east to Mfuwe International Airport, full of excitement about the wonders that await. You'll be driven through the village of Mfuwe en route to the Chichele Presidential Lodge, your base for the first stage of wildlife-spotting. Even this initial journey holds the possibility of seeing antelopes and zebras as you wind through the Luangwa National Park towards your accommodation.
Originally built as the holiday home of a former Zambian president, the lodge has been developed into luxurious suites offering family and interconnecting rooms, and boasts a large swimming pool from which you can enjoy views of the surrounding landscape.
After settling in for the night, the morning brings the chance to go on game drives in open vehicles with accredited safari guides. You can also request to go on safari walks, again with a fully qualified guide. We can't promise exactly what you'll see, but elephants, leopards, lions, hippos and buffalos are all common in the area.
Lower Zambezi National Park
You'll finish up at the South Luangwa National Park with a final early morning game drive through the grasslands - often an ideal time to spot animals. After breakfast at the lodge, it's time to fly back to Lusaka, where you'll be driven to Chongwe River House, your base in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Influenced by the surrounding wilderness Chongwe's amazing location is complemented with waterfall showers, private open air bathtubs, and ceilings studded with river pebbles to complete the inspired design.
There'll be activities aplenty over the next couple of days, with boat cruises, tiger fishing and canoe safaris along the Zambezi River all on the agenda. You'll also drive out on the sprawling plains, giving you the ideal opportunity to spot lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles and many more. The park is renowned as one of the best to get up close to the wildlife, giving you the best possible chance of making memories to last a lifetime.
Between April and November you can even sleep under the stars at the Chongwe River Camp Suite, a luxury base featuring butler service and plunge pools overlooking the river.
It's time to fly south to Livingstone, where you'll be picked up by an English-speaking guide and whisked to your suite at the Stanley Safari Lodge. Set on a hill overlooking unspoilt savannah, the lodge offers wonderful views of Victoria Falls in the distance and the mighty Zambezi River. Staying in a suite, each with its own private plunge pool and deck or terrace.
The next day brings breakfast before the chance to visit the stunning Victoria Falls, a majestic UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walking tour will give you the best vantage points to take in the breathtaking waterfall, as well as plenty of useful information on local customs and traditions. You'll end the day with a visit to an arts and crafts centre - you'll probably want a souvenir of this magical site.
The next day, you'll be transferred to Livingstone International Airport for your flight home, with plenty of memories to take with you.
