Let's talk
I grew up near the picturesque fishing village of Rye, in East Sussex. However, my heart has always been in Africa since I was a young girl. Having a South African father meant my love for the history and colour of this fantastic continent has been a prominent part of my life, and so getting to travel to seven different countries over the last few years has been a dream come true. One of my highlights was flying in the famous yellow bi-plane across Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya.

Safari Sunsets & Beach Bliss

12 days from £4,395pp

This exciting trip to South Africa includes international flights, transfers, accommodation, selected excursions, most breakfasts and some lunches and dinners.

From the first conversation until you arrive home from your holiday, you’ll be looked after by one of our Travel Designers who has travelled extensively in the region and will give advice from their personal experience on how to make the most out of your trip.
All of our trips are entirely bespoke and we will continually refine your itinerary until it’s perfect.

Welcome to Johannesburg, the first stop on your adventurous honeymoon in South Africa. You’ll be kicking off the trip in style as you’re greeted from the flight by a private driver, who'll drop you right on the doorstep of The Residence where a bottle of sparkling wine awaits in your luxury room.

Take the rest of the day to explore the hustle, bustle and bright lights of this vibrant city, or perhaps just kick back and enjoy the hotel’s spa facilities, which include a sauna and steam room.

Madikwe Game Reserve

After flying to Madikwe Game Reserve, you're ready to experience some of South Africa’s most fascinating wildlife. Madikwe’s extremely varied scenery covers 760 square kilometres, ranging from wide open savannahs to lush riverine forests, and is an excellent place for spotting the Big Five, the largest and most dangerous African mammals.

During your time in this beautiful reserve you'll have several opportunities for 4x4 game drives with friendly and experienced guides, allowing you to admire these majestic creatures in comfort, or opt to take a walk if you prefer. There’s nothing quite like spotting a fierce lion basking lazily in the sunlight for the first time, except for perhaps seeing a gentle elephant swinging its trunk as it plods along the open grasslands.

You'll spend your first night in luxury accommodation at Makanyane Safari Lodge, before an unforgettable experience the next evening as you sleep out under the stars. Learn more about the constellations from trained rangers and feel the romance as you watch the glittering night sky unfold above you.

Kruger National Park

On Day 5 you’ll fly to the exclusive Sabi Sands Reserve, and perhaps one of the continent’s richest areas for wildlife spotting. The Sabie River runs through these reserves and adds an extra level to the biodiversity of this region particularly famed for the striking leopards that prowl its many hectares. This is another chance for close encounters with African wildlife, with daily game drives and optional bush walks, where you’re sure to get those perfect snapshots of giraffe craning for leaves on the highest branches or zebra grazing peacefully on the grasslands.

On top of this, you have the opportunity to unwind at your luxury accommodation, Arathusa Safari Lodge, which boasts a pool (perfect for cooling off after a day under the warm African sun!), spa, terrace and wellness centre. You’ll also be lucky enough to enjoy romantic views from your water-facing room.

You have time to squeeze in one final game drive before you head to the beach for some serious down time. You’ll take a flight to Durban, where you'll be met by your private driver who'll escort you to your night’s accommodation, the Oyster Box, a stunning resort perched by the gorgeous Umhlanga beach.

Watch the waves roll in from your luxury sea-view room, take a leisurely trip down to the beach or simply lounge by the pool.

iSimangaliso Wetland Park

On Day 9, you head off to Thonga Beach Lodge for the final leg of your honeymoon adventure, where you’ll be staying in the deluxe honeymoon room with access to a beautiful pool and beach deck, complete with panoramic views of the sea. During your time here, there are a wide range of optional activities available to you. Plunge into an underwater paradise as you go scuba diving or snorkelling, and discover a whole world that lies beneath the water’s surface.

Between November and February, there’s the chance to track beautiful turtles - yet another wildlife experience you won’t forget. If you’re in need of a dose of culture, visit the traditional Mabibi Village, or for adventurous types there’s a chance to take a guided kayak tour on the pristine waters of Lake Sibaya. Enjoy luxurious spa treatments from facials to massages to hot stone therapy that will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Round off your honeymoon with a romantic candle-lit dinner by the lapping waves, a perfect chance to take stock of your South African experience and all the unforgettable memories you made in this beautiful country before flying home from Durban on Day 12.
