Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa, Siem Reap
- Kids’ pool
- Children’s club
- Gorgeous spa
The Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa is found in the leafy French Quarter of Siem Reap. The resort has a characterful 1930s Colonial-style, giving the resort an air of sophistication that complements the attentive service from the ever-smiling staff.
The guestrooms are charming. Hardwood floors, patterned tiles and rich fabrics (Vietnamese raw silk, as it happens) give the rooms some je ne sais quoi. The rooms all have balconies, beckoning you outside for a morning coffee overlooking the courtyard full of frangipani trees and bougainvillea.
A dedicated children’s pool means the main saltwater pool is, happily, mostly the domain of adults. The children’s pool isn’t the only facility for kids either – the kids club is open daily and has toys, DVDs and games. Certainly worth remembering if you want to tour the nearby temples peacefully.
The spa menu is crammed full of deeply relaxing therapies for when you’re ready for some me-time.The hotel’s three restaurants are distinctly French, although Le Connaisseur offers Asian delicacies alongside traditional French dishes. Pre-dinner, we recommend the L’Explorateur Bar for the impressive cocktail menu. Choose your snifter and head out to the terrace to enjoy.
Victoria Angkor has a fleet of 1930s Citroen cars that can be rented for city and temple tours - a great way to explore in style!
