Bolaven Plateau Loop, Champasak

Set off on an adventure in a 4x4 jeep around the Bolaven Plateau travelling through lush countryside dotted with waterfalls and hidden caves.

To wake yourself up fully, head to a popular coffee plantation to sample some of the most delicious, fresh coffee in the area. The local farm workers will talk you through how they harvest the coffee beans before showing you a demonstration of roasting the beans and turn them into the best coffee around. Lunch will be served in the lush coffee plantation before the afternoon tour begins.

Leave the jeep behind and trek off into the rural landscape through thriving farms and forest until you stumble across a hidden war cave set back into the limestone cliffs. Here you’ll see the war shelter used by the local refugees in 1973 to escape the bombing of the American- Vietnam War.

After exploring this hidden cave, retrace your footsteps back to the jeep before driving deeper into the wilderness in search of the Tad Moun waterfall. Not a common tourist hot-spot like many of the other waterfalls in the area due to its remote location, it’s the perfect place to sit back and enjoy some peace and quiet. Splash around in the tranquil, blue pools and soak up the stunning scenery before heading back into Champasak before night falls.
