Located in the small town of Pakbeng, Luang Say Lodge was originally built to offer passengers a place to stay in their travels between Luang Prabang and Huay Xai. A good distance from both, guests can experience the best of both worlds as they enjoy the surrounding area’s cultural hot spots. If you take the Luang Say cruise, this will be your accommodation for the night.

The Luang Say Lodge is the ultimate in budget accommodation coupled with spectacular views. Overlooking the iconic Mekong River, the lodge is made up of 20 wooden bungalows and lined by walkways. Understated in style, the bungalows blend seamlessly into their environment – you’d be forgiven for thinking they were part of nature’s design. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with ceiling fans and fully-equipped en suite bathrooms.

While you’re bound to stumble across excellent restaurants in its neighbouring larger towns, the lodge’s own central restaurant offers something authentic for hungry guests. Aside from its excellent panorama of the river, it serves up traditional Lao and Thai food. If you’re lucky, you might even experience a traditional dance by one of the local artists.
