Congratulations on your nuptials! Get ready to embark on your wonderful honeymoon to Bali, where you'll be greeted at your hotel, the Alaya Ubud, with a bottle of sparkling wine. The rest of the day is yours to spend how you like, perhaps unwinding together, enjoying a refreshing dip in the pool or treating yourself to a couple's massage.
During your time in Ubud you’ll visit Saraswati Temple, dedicated to the goddess of wisdom, knowledge and the arts. You’ll also go on a walking tour of the Balinese Royal Residence, Pali Saren (Ubud Palace) as well as stroll through the canopies of Ubud Monkey Forest, home to a population of 600-700 chattering long-tailed macaques. In the evening, savour a romantic private gazebo dinner at the Mozaic Restaurant, nestled amongst shady trees.
On day 4, visit the astonishing Gunung Kawi temple, sat amongst lush vegetation and emerald green rice terraces. The scenery doesn’t end here - you’ll be reaching for the camera again at the Tirta Empul temple to capture the panorama of Kintamani, with spectacular views over Lake Batur and Bali’s most active volcano, Mount Batur.
Things to do
On day 5, en route to Nusa Dua, you'll pass the water temples of Pura Taman Ayun and then continue to Alas Kedaton, a small forest temple inhabited by hundreds of wild monkeys. From here you will journey to one of Bali’s most famous sights: Tanah Lot. A dramatic rock formation facing the open ocean where waves crash below, and shadows are cast against a colourful evening sky as the sun sets on the horizon.
Wake up on day 6, ready to spend the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon you’ll be driving to the ocean-facing Uluwatu Temple, where you'll watch the famous Kecak Dance Show. As the sun sets, you’ll dine on fresh seafood on the beach. Day 7 can be spent at your leisure, perhaps relaxing by the pool or strolling hand in hand along the beach.
Activity & Adventure
Your Indonesian honeymoon is all about romance and beauty, and you’re about to be thrown into the heart of it when you head to the tiny island of Gili Meno. Ringed by white sandy beaches and coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, this is the ultimate in desert island fantasies. Seri Resort is your base for the next few days and whether you want to swim, snorkel or lay on the beach together sipping cocktails, this is the place to do it. There are no distractions, just crystal clear waters and secluded white beaches; as you can walk around the whole island in around two hours, you'll have plenty of time to find your own favourite quiet spot.
You’ve spent time falling in love with Gili Meno, and before you leave, you’ll have a chance to fall all over again for the other two islands that form the Trio Gilis. At Gili Air and Gili Trawangan you can snorkel, swim and explore, before moving onwards to Senggigi on the island of Lombok.
Wake up feeling relaxed in the beachfront of Senggigi. You'll spend the remainder of your trip here at the Katamaran Resort, swimming in the sea, enjoying fresh seafood and perusing the local shops.
You'll also learn how to cook some famous Balinese dishes, so you can recreate them when you get back home. You may not be able to take the beach back with you – or the warm weather – but as long as you have each other, your memories of the perfect honeymoon will never fade.
