This city is a visual treat, surrounded by an eight metre high wall, depicting the perfect square. From here, you will continue to the Bayon Temple in the middle of Siem Reap. This 12th century masterpiece is a splendorous sight to behold and was once the state temple of King Jayavarman VII. A mountain temple, built to represent Mount Meru, you can teach the children about Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. Spend the afternoon at your own leisure.
After a relaxing sleep, you will delve into the atmospheric ruins of Ta Prohm, known as the 'Tomb Raider Temple'. Complete with crumbling towers and walls overgrown by jungle trees and vines, Ta Prohm is one of the most picturesque of the Angkor Temples. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is unique in its grand scale and incredible detail.
