Fujian Assembly Hall in Hoi An Ancient Town, Vietnam
Hoi An City Tour
You’ll instantly be charmed by Hoi An, one of Vietnam’s most picturesque cities. Your guide will meet you at your hotel to begin your half-day tour, starting with a wander through town to admire the remarkably well-preserved traditional houses that have withstood 200 years of weather and war. Learn all about the wealthy merchants who once lived in these homes, trading with buyers from all over the world.
Make a stop at the Japanese Covered Bridge, one of Hoi An’s most iconic – and photographed - landmarks. Built over 400 years ago to connect the Japanese and Chinese communities who lived on either side of the way, the bridge is adorned with carvings and paintings. Continue on to a Chinese communal hall, a colourful arrangement of bright gates, dragon statues and elaborate rooftops where you’ll get an introduction to ancestor worship while visiting the family altar and watching local devotees making offerings.
Finish off your walking tour with a visit to some of Hoi An’s famous handicraft shops to pick up a silk souvenir, or drop into an art gallery.
