Half Day Highlights of Hue

Your tour kicks off with a visit to the UNESCO-Heritage Imperial Citadel. Wander the extensive grounds where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After exploring, take a cyclo through the Old City to tranquil Tinh Tam Lake, once the relaxation grounds of the Emperors, and now a popular place for Hue residents to unwind. The pretty lake is full of lotus flowers and there’s plenty of coffee shops if you need a quick pick-me-up.

You’ll leave the city for the beautiful countryside by car, where you’ll arrive at Khai Dinh’s tomb, a remarkable complex with a blend of Vietnamese and European design. Finish off your tour with a stop at the lively Dong Ba market.

The simple memory of eating a bowl of Pho whilst watching the sunset in Halong Bay is one of my fondest from my time living in Vietnam. The wonderful warm people, incredible nature and fantastic food of Vietnam will always keep me coming back.
