The afternoon can be spent either relaxing by the pool or sampling one of the optional activities offered by the hotel, including massage treatments, bicycle hire or taking part in a private guided archaeological tour.
On day 4, head off for a private tour of Hacienda de Sotuta de Peon, which produces the local traditional henequen drink. Learn about the powerful beverage’s history during an illustrative walk through the hacienda’s beautiful architecture before swimming in the waters of its ancient sinkhole.
Day 5 involves a private tour of the Chicen Itza archaeological zone, Mexico’s most famous historical site. Immerse yourself in Maya culture while exploring the Temple of the Warriors, the ball court and a sacred sinkhole known as a cenote. Later there’s time to tick off one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – the Pyramid of Kukulkan. You’ll spend the night at the nearby Hacienda Chichen Resort & Yaxkin Spa.
After breakfast on day 6 it’s time to swap the history of Santa Rosa for the delights of Holbox Island, which is a short hop by ferry from the mainland.
