Let's talk
I’m a landscape buff, so love Peru for its combination of deserts, snow-capped Andes and Amazon jungle. I’ll never forget experiencing sunrise at Machu Picchu – I climbed 3,000 steps in the dark to get there in time, but the colours of the morning light were definitely worth it!

City

Today you’re off to Cuzco, the chief city of the Inca Empire nestled in the Peruvian Andes. During your time here you’ll visit the 15th century Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, another UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll also swing by the trendy neighbourhood of San Blas; wander the cluster of cobblestone streets and pick up a souvenir from the artists selling their handicrafts on the street. Gaze in awe at the mighty cathedral which dominates the main square and took over 100 years to build. You’ll finish the city tour at Coricancha, known as the Temple of the Sun, a once gold covered and very important Inca temple. After experiencing the Coca Kintu ceremony you’ll head back to your hotel. The next day you’ll enjoy a tour of the local market before checking out the Choco Museum where you can kick back with a delicious hot chocolate. You’ll finish up with a trip to the Andean Textile Centre where you’ll see ancient weaving techniques in action.
