Wildlife

With adults and kids alike filled with excitement, you'll touch down in San José and head to Central Valley, where you'll stay in a villa in the Xandari Resort. To kick things off, you'll explore the fabulous La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a sprawling nature reserve of more than 70 acres. Children of all ages will love to wander through the safe hiking trails, taking in animal exhibits and five magical waterfalls. You'll see plenty of beautiful creatures at the Butterfly Garden, while the Hummingbird Garden boasts 26 different species. Frogs and wildcats are also on the agenda, while at the Serpentarium you'll be able to see some impressive (and sometimes deadly) snakes - from a safe distance, of course!

Activity & Adventure

Next you'll be whisked off to the Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa, before embarking on a Private Canopy Adventure. Anyone over the age of eight can explore the jungle on horseback, following an expert guide who'll point out the wonderful wildlife on show. The canopy walk also takes in a Tarzan swing through the trees - a truly breathtaking experience. You'll also visit the Projecto Asis wildlife rescue centre, where a guide will take you through the enclosures, explaining to kids (and adults!) about each creature. Last, but definitely not least, you'll enjoy a private chocolate-making tour on the way to Manual Antonio, where you'll make your own delicious snack - and even get to eat some.

Beach

With all that adventure out of the way, now it's time to relax! Feeling thoroughly spoilt at the Si Como No Hotel & Wildlife Refuge, you'll unwind on beautiful beaches on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. And if you haven't had your fill of Costa Rica's wildlife, you can head to the nearby Manuel Antonio National Park, where a guide will point out monkeys, iguanas and sloths as you stroll leisurely through the grounds.

On day eleven, we'll have to drag you home, but we're confident you'll have made enough memories to last a lifetime. And you can always come back!
