Sri Lanka Holidays

Palm trees waving lazily in the breeze, ancient temples, lush green pastures, and untrodden white sandy beaches. If this sounds like your ideal trip, and you're looking for a taste of exotic beauty, Sri Lanka is the spot for you.

Stay in a hotel in the humming capital of Colombo, a treehouse in the forest, or a beach hut by the ocean. Whether you’re learning to cook local food in a quiet hilltop village, taking advantage of the mellow surf, or meditating in an ancient temple, Sri Lanka holidays will provide a breathtaking and eye-opening experience.

Stop off at what is considered as the eighth wonder of the world – Sigiriya, an ancient stone fortress nestled into the Sri Lankan jungle, or witness the bears, wild boar and leopard which roam this region. See the world’s oldest living human-planted tree here in Sri Lanka, before venturing down to the tropical beaches to see gentle rolling waves and glistening blue waters. Meditate on this deeply spiritual island, or hike the towering mountains until you are high above the clouds, before visiting the Knuckles Mountain Range to taste world-famous tea in the Liddesdale Tea Factory. Alternatively, climb a rope ladder into the Belilena Cave, which still remains largely undiscovered.

The meld of Chinese, Portuguese and Indian influences is evident in this luscious country; travellers can wander around colonial palaces, Buddhist temples, shrines and mysterious ancient sites dating back over 2000 years.

I will never forget the moment that we came across a huge herd of 50 elephants in Minneriya National Park. They ran for cover when there was a sudden downpour, and I got soaked but didn’t care! I love Sri Lanka for its diversity, great food, culture, wildlife and history – and it’s still very much undeveloped.
