Once the capital of the Inca Empire, Cuzco is dotted with many excellent ruins and temples. You’ll start off at Coricancha, The Temple of the Sun; once covered in gold it was melted off by the invaders and sent back to Spain. Next up you’ll visit the Cathedral in the main square. Appreciate the architecture; it took almost 100 years to build this mighty building! You’ll continue on to Sacsayhuaman, a 15th century Inca stone fortress and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
