The time I spent travelling through South and Central America not only allowed me to perfect my Spanish, but also gave me real taste of authentic Latin America. The food, wine, landscapes and wildlife keep me going back for more whenever I can.

This exciting trip to Colombia includes international flights, a private car and driver, excursions, accommodation, breakfasts and some lunches and dinners.

From the first conversation until you arrive home from your holiday, you’ll be looked after by one of our Travel Designers who has travelled extensively in the region and will give advice from their personal experience on how to make the most out of your trip. All of our trips are entirely bespoke and we will continually refine your itinerary until it’s perfect.

The Coffee Region

Your loved-up adventure begins with an overnight flight to Colombian capital Bogotá, before catching a connecting flight to Colombia’s coffee-producing region. At Armenia airport, you’ll be met by your English-speaking driver and guide who will whisk you off to the Hacienda Bambusa, a peaceful retreat in the middle of a bamboo forest. On arrival, you’ll receive champagne to toast the start of your honeymoon.

Excursions can be arranged locally. We suggest a day trip to a coffee plantation with coffee tasting and a cooking class in the afternoon. Optional activities you can choose include a hot air balloon flight or birdwatching tour of the Rio Blanco Nature Reserve, going in search of parakeets and toucans amid the cloud forest.

On Day 4 you could simply chill out at your hotel or take an optional guided tour of the bustling colonial market town of Salento and the beautiful Cocora Valley where you can go horse riding among the wax palms. Your last night in the Coffee Region will be spent enjoying a private dinner by your hotel pool with views of the majestic Andes mountains in the background.

General tour

Today you’ll take the scenic route by road to Medellín, stopping off at the amazing La Romelia orchid farm, which is home to more than 800 varieties of orchid as well as exotic birds and tropical fruits. After arriving in the fashionable El Poblado district of Medellín, you’ll be able to settle into the Patio del Mundo boutique hotel and go for a stroll around the lush tropical garden.

The next day is a half-day tour to see how this infamous city has undergone dramatic social change in recent years. In the 1980s, Medellín was one of the most dangerous cities in the world thanks to its links to the drugs trade. Visit Pablo Escobar’s barrio, where around 500 houses were donated to the poor by the notorious drug lord, and head up to the mountainous neighbourhood of Comuna 13 by cable car and see how the prospects of people living here have changed for the better. In the evening, you’ll have dinner at Carmen, one of the best restaurants in Medellín. Talk about the highlights of your day over sautéed fish or suckling pig.

Dreaming of an idyllic Caribbean beach? Well, dream no more, because today it becomes a reality! After a short flight from Medellín to San Andres, you’ll be taken to the Hotel Deep Blue, a remote hideaway on the English-speaking island of Providencia. Here you’ll spend the next few days unwinding and enjoying each other’s company.

As Day 8 dawns, you’ll be able to collect a golf buggy to go off exploring the island. Stroll hand-in-hand on a palm-fringed beach or check out the coral reefs, mangroves and lagoons of Old Providence McBean Lagoon National Park. You could even walk across to neighbouring Santa Catalina Island via a floating wooden bridge known as the Lovers’ Bridge.

Day 9 is also at your leisure. Relax in the spectacular natural surroundings of your hotel and sip tropical cocktails by the pool. Or nod off in a hammock to the gentle waves lapping the shore. You could also swim or snorkel in the calm clear waters – here the sea is known for being seven shades of blue and the island is surrounded by the world’s third largest barrier reef.

As the sun sets on Day 10, you’ll be able to enjoy a private dinner by the sea or on the rooftop terrace. What better way to celebrate your last night on the island than with a romantic meal under the stars?

Capital City

This morning you’ll say farewell to Providencia and fly on to Bogotá, where you’ll spend your final night in Colombia at the Bioxury Hotel, located in the buzzing financial district of the capital.

Day 12 begins with an optional half-day tour of the city, including a visit to the Gold Museum, where you’ll be able to see the world’s largest collection of gold pieces from the Pre-Columbian era. At the Botero Museum you can admire paintings by the French Impressionists and works donated by Colombia's most famous artist Fernando Botero.

Later that day you’ll head to Bogotá airport for your overnight flight home, taking with you wonderful memories of the time you spent together in Colombia, which you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
