Cableway Table Mountain, Cape Town

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway opened its doors to its first visitors on 4 October 1929. Since then, it has been renovated many times, bringing it to the point where it can safely welcome an average of 800,000 visitors each year. The round cable cars take about 5 – 10 minutes to carry its passengers from Tafelberg Road to the top of Table Mountain and they gently rotate, offering 360-degree views on the way.

Travel by cable car to the top of Table Mountain and enjoy breath-taking panoramic views of Cape Town. The top of Table Mountain is 1,089 metres above the town and a great spot to sit and soak up the commanding 360-degree views of Cape Town, Table Bay, the nearby peaks of the surrounding mountains and the rest of Table Mountain National Park.

Join a 30-minute guided tour, departing from the Twelve Apostles Terrace to learn more about the story of Table Mountain and the Cableway or simply enjoy a lovely lunch at the Table Mountain Café, offering a range of food and drinks.
