Featherbed Nature Reserve Eco Experience, Garden Route

Board your ferry and cruise the idyllic Knysna Estuary. Once you've arrived, meet your guide and board a 4x4 unimog vehicle, driving through the reserve to the top of the Western Head where you can take in spectacular panoramic views of the reserve. If you fancy exploring by foot, take the guided nature trail walk where you will witness various fauna, flora, bird and marine life in the reserve. The walk takes you through the Milkwood forests, where you will stop for a delicious lunch, onto the steep sandstone cliffs, into ancient Khoi-Khoi sea caves and finally along a scenic coastal path fringed with aromatic fynbos. On the coastal walk back, you can often spot the resident black African oyster catcher, one of the rarest coast birds in South Africa.

The eco-experience is a wonderful family outing, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

I adore Africa and have lived and worked in South Africa as well as travelling across the wider region. Spotting a leopard during a night safari at Namibia Private Game Reserve is definitely an experience I'll remember forever.
