This stretch of river is home to an incredible amount of wildlife, including Orangutans, proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, langurs, wild cats, crocodiles, amazing birdlife, and that’s just the start.
The tour begins the moment you board the boat at the pier with your local guide ready who will be on hand to help spot the wildlife and tell you about the local ecosystem. Heading off from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan town through the magnificent scenery of the surrounding mangrove forest, this cruise takes about an hour until you reach the Abai Jungle Restaurant, where you will be stopping for lunch.
After trying some delicious local dishes the cruise continues along the river up to Sukau village where you have the opportunity to spoke Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife, which will be a one of a kind safari experience and will definitely leave you with last memories of your time in Borneo.
