Treat yourself to some luxury done right at Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort & Spa. Just outside of Kota Kinabalu, we think this is a particularly smart place to stay if you’re rewarding yourself after climbing Mount Kinabalu. As far as location goes, Shangri-La Rasa Ria is hard to beat. It’s set on the white sands of Pantai Dalit Beach, surrounded by a tropical nature reserve and has impressive views to Mount Kinabalu.

The spec of the spacious guestrooms is incredibly high and you can expect a private balcony, elegant furnishings and a marble-clad bathroom. Opting to stay in the hotel’s exclusive Ocean Wing elevates your luxury experience even more, where you’re lavished with complimentary extras throughout your stay.

The championship course will beckon golfers, and if the other halves can’t be persuaded to join them for a round, a morning in the hotel’s spa might be in order. Otherwise, get out and about exploring the wilderness that surrounds the resort, or join in one of the huge range of activities arranged by the hotel. Horse-riding on the beach? Ziplining through the jungle? Fishing? Hiking? Hydrobiking? Wakeboarding? The opportunities for adventure at Shangri-La Rasa Ria are so plentiful, you won’t get through them all. If you’re travelling en famille, this resort has you covered. There’s a complimentary and excellent kids' club on hand for kids aged five and over. But you should expect to while away many hours together in the fantastic children’s pool, complete with waterslide, in between your family wildlife and jungle adventures.

It’s a large resort, so there’s a good selection of dining options, both formal and relaxed. Travel the world by way of the hotel’s dining experiences - there are dedicated Indian and Japanese restaurants at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria. And of course, plenty of local Malaysian food and western dishes too.
