Temple in Battambang, Cambodia
Wat, Water and Culture Bike Tour, Battambang
Learn all about local life in Battambang with this immersive walking, cycling and boat tour. Your tour will start in the morning at 7:30am where you’ll watch a film about the history of Battambang and the influences Thailand and France had on the city over the years.
Wander over to the main Psar Nath market and try the local coffee. Then you’ll walk along the Sangker River, soaking in the river lifestyle before boarding a ferry to get to Wat Povil. It’s a local temple where you’ll join the monks in prayer and learn about the religious traditions in rural Cambodia. Then you’ll follow the monks back across the river (depending on their religious calendar) and start your bike tour.
You’ll ride around getting to know the town, meeting locals and admiring the beautiful old colonial architecture (maybe stopping to get the old selfie stick out?). You’ll visit the historical 2.5 Street Restaurant and tuck into some tasty lunch before visiting a Thai temple and a small charming little market where you’ll try some refreshing sugarcane juice.
Then you’ll ride to a local village full of well-preserved Khmer houses built more than a century ago. Admire these historical houses and experience authentic Khmer life.
