Dusk at Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa, Siem Reap
- Suite-style guestrooms
- Excellent cooking school
- Luxurious spa
The all-suite retreat of Anatara Angkor is firmly of the luxury variety. Just a 15-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s a prime location if you want a relaxing base with easy access to the sights.
The suites are spacious and elegant with touches of Cambodian design. You’ll experience over-and-above service and amenities here with a Butler, daily fresh fruit, and, our particular favourite, an arrival foot ritual. Oh yes, the Anatara Angkor certainly promises a pampering stay. In fact, if you opt for one of the fancier suites, you’ll enjoy daily complimentary spa treatments, too.
The Anatara Angkor’s cooking school, Spice Spoons, will be right up your street if you’re a foodie. Your experience starts with a tour of the local market, selecting fresh produce that you’ll be coached into creating into something spectacular with back at the hotel. But if you’d rather someone else take care of the cooking, Anatara’s signature restaurant, Chi, serves up superbly prepared Cambodian cuisine, alongside other Asian favourites. For a more laid-back vibe (or some western food), the L Lounge is open all-day and offers a daily champagne afternoon tea. Snacks, drinks and cocktails are available at the Salt pool bar if you have a lazy day of sunbathing in mind.
This place is pure indulgence. After busy days exploring the temples, the Anatara Angkor is a seriously pampering place to retreat to.
