Panorama Route Tour

Some have called it the most beautiful place in the world, Mpumalanga’s famous Panorama Route is well-known for its breath-taking beauty and rich cultural heritage. Spend an entire day exploring the majestic natural sights of this beautiful area. It is one of the most scenic routes in South Africa offering magnificent views, dramatic landscapes and exquisite waterfalls. You’ll have the opportunity to stop at scenic landmarks such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels as well as the majestic Blyde River Canyon – the third largest canyon of its kind in the world.

Depart Hazyview and travel northwards through the little town of Graskop. Your first stop is either at the Lisbon Falls or the Berlin Falls. Continue to the Three Rondavels for a spectacular view over the Blyde River Canyon. Shaped like traditional beehive huts, the Three Rondavels form three pinnacles of rock rising above the canyon. Drink in the dramatic views before proceeding back south along the route to the Bourke’s Luck Potholes.

After enjoying the spectacular and humbling views at God’s Window, continue back to Graskop where you will stop for lunch at one of the restaurants in town (try one of the delicious pancakes!). The day will end with a visit to the mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest, from where you will return back to Hazyview.

I adore Africa and have lived and worked in South Africa as well as travelling across the wider region. Spotting a leopard during a night safari at Nambiti Private Game Reserve is definitely an experience I'll remember forever.
