From the first conversation until you arrive home from your vacation, you’ll be looked after by one of our Travel Designers who has traveled extensively in the region and will give advice from their personal experience on how to make the most out of your trip.
All of our trips are entirely custom-made and we will continually refine your itinerary until it’s perfect.
After your flight to Cape Town you will be met at the airport, ready to experience two weeks of pleasure. Check in to your accommodation - Cape Town Hollow. Depending on the time you arrive, you could enjoy a drink at Camps Bay, gaze over the area from Table Mountain's heights or tour the historically-rich Robben Island Prison Museum.
On Day 3 you will discover the region's beautiful sights. Gaze over the seemingly endless water as you journey down the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay. Stop by Hout Bay, a sleepy fishing village lined with mountains and golden beaches; carry on via Chapman's Peak, an enthralling coastal drive, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point - the point where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean converge. Witness some fine examples of Victorian architecture in Simon's Town and see the local penguins at Boulders Beach. African penguins, a rare breed, are growing in numbers at the Boulders Penguin Colony, where you can observe them in their natural habitat and learn more about their threatened existence. The tour ends in the early evening at your hotel and you can spend the evening as you wish.
On day 4, you’ll relocate to Franschhoek where you will be staying at the Lavender Guest House. From here you'll enjoy a guide-led expedition through the local winelands, finding out what makes South African wine so delectable. This tour includes three wine tastings, so you’ll be able to try a variety of different scents and flavors. You could also opt for a wine tram or a bike tour, if you feel like exploring further afield.
After sampling a few glasses of wine, we’re sure that you’ll be ready to have a bite to eat. With strong French origins (Franschhoek translates as “French Corner” in Dutch) the area’s culinary scene is widely regarded. We recommend you try out places such as La Colombe, Foliage or Cafe Bonbon, but please note that lunch is not included on this tour.
Activity & Adventure
On day 5, you’ll head to the seaside town of Hermanus, staying at the On the Cliffs Guest House. Your accommodation is located in a beautiful area, with each room enjoying panoramic sea views.
If you're visiting between June and November you can take a whale watching tour to see the Southern Right Whales who mate and breed in the area in the winter and spring months. This area has been rated by the WWF as one of the 12 best whale watching locations in the world. If you’re visiting outside of these times, just sit back and take in the sun on one of the pristine beaches, such as Breakfast Bay or Grotto Beach.
Kruger National Park
On day 6, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you’re transported to Cape Town for a morning flight to Hoedspruit airport. You’ll then be taken to your luxurious accommodation, Chacma Bush Camp, in the Kruger National Park, where the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish.
On day 7, you’ll be going on morning and evening game drive. Get ready for an early start as, depending on the time of year, you’ll be leaving at five or six am - don’t worry if you're not usually an early bird - there’s a pre-drive coffee and a mid-drive coffee break as you take in the area’s glorious landscape and rich wildlife. Evening game drives commence from mid-afternoon, and there will be a break where you can enjoy a drink and snacks during the three to four-hour long drives.
On day 8, wake up early, sip a coffee then set out on a game drive to experience the local region’s sights. Following on from the activity, you’ll have breakfast and time to do whatever you like; you’ll then have lunch and head out on a game drive in the afternoon or evening. Dinner is the most special meal of the day: you’ll be sat round by a campfire as you sample traditional South African barbecue known as 'braaivleis', with various meats that are cooked over an open fire.
On day 9, enjoy your last game excursion and have breakfast; you’ll soon be travelling to the Rissington Inn. Your afternoon is at own leisure, and you can enjoy many of the lodge’s amenities: go for a swim, browse the library’s books, go for a round of golf at a local club or have a drink at the bar.
On day 10, you’ll be going on a full day tour along the Panorama Route. Take in majestic views of the Lowveld from the heights of God’s Window, one of the most well-known mountains in Mpumalanga. Gaze over the orange rock and clear aqua in Bourke’s Luck Potholes, then experience one of the world’s deepest canyons and the Three Rondavels mountains. Or choose whether to visit the Sabie waterfalls, Lone Creek Falls or Bridal Veil Falls. Your journey back to Hazyview will take you through Sabie, so take the time to soak in the gorgeous scenery - lunch and water will be provided on this itinerary.
On day 11, you’ll leave early and be transported to Kruger airport, where your destination is Umhlanga, Durban’s beach area. You will be staying at the Garden Court Umhlanga, offering you the chance to rest and relax.
The afternoon is at your own leisure. Visit the Umhlanga beach which is located around a 10 minute drive from your hotel, or enjoy rejuvenating spa treatments at the luxurious hotel spa.
iSimangaliso Wetland Park
You'll be spending days 12 and 13 in the paradise surroundings of St. Lucia. Once you have settled into your accommodation, the Avalone Guest House, you can relax on the pristine beaches, experience sea life by snorkeling or fishing, go hiking or have a few rounds of golf. Take a day trip to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi game reserve, Africa’s oldest proclaimed reserve, where you can go on a safari and see animals like rhinos, elephants and zebras. If you want an experience on the water, take a boat trip where you can spot crocodiles, hippos and an array of bird species.
You’ll have one last breakfast in beautiful South Africa before proceeding to King Shaka airport on Day 14.
