Angkor Complex by Tuk Tuk, Siem Reap

This full day tour will cover all of Angkor’s major sights. You’ll start after breakfast with a visit to Ta Prohm temple by remork (similar to the Thai tuk tuk). Dating from the 12th century, Ta Prohm has been left largely as it was found, wrapped in trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This is easily the most instagrammable temple in the Angkor Park so be sure to take a lot of snaps!

You’ll then move onto the biggest religious temple in the world, and the most recognizable in Angkor, the magnificent Angkor Wat. Built by Suryavarman II, a king of the Khmer empire, the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat is a representation of Mount Meru, home of the Hindu gods. Inside the temple the walls are covered by carvings and depicting the Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II made during his reign. Unlike the other Angkor monuments, Angkor Wat has been in virtually continuous use since it was built, which explains its extraordinary complete appearance.

After exploring, you’ll visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire. Surrounded by an 8m high wall, the city sits in a perfect square shape. Enter through the ancient South Gate, adorned with carvings of elephants and four giant faces. On each side of the entrance path a row of 54 gods holding the sacred Naga snake.

In the evening you’ll board a private boat and cruise out to Prasat Chrung Temple to watch the amazing sunset. This lesser-known temple is set on top of a hill in the Angkor complex, offering amazing views over the park.
