Luang Prabang

Activity & Adventure

The day is here at last – time to get ready to explore (and relax) your way around Laos! Once you touch down in Luang Prabang you’ll be met by a guide and transfer to your hotel where you’ll have some time to settle in. You’ll kick start your stay in the city by climbing Mount Phousi – it has 328 steps but the panoramic views from the top are worth it. For your first full day in the city you’ll enjoy a morning meditation and yoga session in the garden with an experienced Yogi, followed by an evening blessing ceremony in a candlelit hillside temple.

Get to know the city even better with a cycling tour; you’ll visit the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, National Museum, the gold leaf temple of Wat Mai and last but not least Wat Xieng Thong – the city’s most revered temple. After all that cycling you’ll be transferred to the breathtakingly beautiful Kuang Si Waterfalls, where you can relax in the stunning turquoise pools (or if you’ve got more energy – hike to the top). On the way back to your hotel you have the option to stop at the Asiatic Black Bear sanctuary. Your last full day in the city is yours to do with as you please.

Luang Prabang

General tour

Today you'll make your way to Ban Xieng Mouark, a green oasis a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Luang Prabang city. If you’re feeling up to it, you can opt for a hike towards a rarely visited protected region, rich in flora and butterflies. You’ll walk through a cascading waterfall, along a jungle track and past local villages. Once you arrive back at your hotel you’ll enjoy lunch and time to relax in the pool or tropical garden. Your last day in Ban Xieng Mouark will be spent at your leisure.

Capital City

Today you’re bound for the capital, Vientiane, with a brief stop in Luang Prabang. You’ll kick off your stay in the capital with a guided half day tour; explore ancient Buddhist temples, view an impressive collection of Lao and Khmer religious art and visit the Patuxay monument, an impressive replica of the Arc de Triomphe. You’ll also spend some time at COPE, an association which works with landmine victims, a tragic legacy of the American-Vietnam war. On your last full day in the city you’ll experience a hands-on Lao cooking class where you’ll learn how to replicate the local cuisine at home. After enjoying the fruits of your labor you’re off to the forest temple where you’ll discuss Buddhism with monks and have some time to meditate yourself. Afterwards you’ll swing by a local spa where you’ll be treated to a one-hour traditional Lao massage.
