Toronto Vacations

Located on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, Canada’s largest city has much to offer. From multicultural cuisine to vibrant nightlife, Toronto is the perfect way to start your Canadian adventure.

A visit to the city’s iconic CN Tower is an absolute must. At 553m high, it’s the tallest free-standing structure in the world. You'll be able to dine in 360° style, as the tower's restaurant slowly revolves - a particularly beautiful effect when it's sunset. If you're more of a thrill seeker, then take a walk around the circumference of the main pod.

Back on the ground, explore St. Laurence Market, the restored 1845 South Market home to more than 50 specialty foods. If you visit during the weekend then make sure not to miss the farmers' market on a Saturday, or rifle through Sunday’s antique market on the hunt for hidden treasure.

It's worth visiting the Royal Ontario Museum which comprises of an outstanding collection of exhibits from around the world. To see the impressive collection of First Nations and Inuit carvings, visit the Art Gallery of Ontario which also has some major Canadian works by Emily Carr and the Group of Seven.

Not far from Toronto’s busy Union Station, you’ll find one of Toronto’s main tourist attractions: The Distillery District, a series of quaint 19th century buildings that once housed a whisky distillery. A place brimming with creativity, the district is now widely regarded as Canada’s premier arts, culture and entertainment destination. Further afield you can visit Yonge Street and Yonge-Dundas Square, a bustling outdoor public area where you can enjoy music whilst soaking in the city’s cultural diversity.

For a unique Canadian experience, get loud and proud with the locals to cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team at the Rogers Stadium. If ice hockey is more your thing, then be sure to visit during the hockey season to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs score some goals.

Let's talk
Born in Toronto, I spent two years living in British Columbia after university, where I was completely taken by the incredible wilderness and adventure opportunities. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively in the vast country of my birth, as well as in Alaska. Highlights have included observing the polar bears of Hudson Bay, viewing coastal Alaskan brown bears in Katmai National Park and spending time in the beautiful walled city of Quebec.
