Holidays to Peru
Peru is a cornucopia of adventure. It boasts a diverse landscape, remarkable heritage and exhilarating cities, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latin America.
Once you arrive in Peru, you’ll realise what all the fuss is about and wonder why you didn’t insist on visiting sooner. You’ll love the welcoming nature of the people, the flavoursome food they create, and the depth of Peru’s history and culture. You could spend a long time here and always still have lots to see and do.
The majestic Andes dominate the inland scenery and, in sharp contrast, a sweeping desert coastline is found along Peru’s western edge. In between, there’s the exotic Amazon jungle, colonial towns, the mighty Amazon River and of course – the revered Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
This is a country where you can unleash your inner Bear Grylls. Trekking to Machu Picchu is a classic Bucket List item, but there are other adventures to be had besides that. Explore the terrain by white water rafting, ziplining and cycling. Stay on an island in Lake Titicaca. Paddle down the Amazon in a kayak. Explore the desert by bouncing around on a dune buggy. Then venture into the jungle to spot Peru’s famous wildlife like slinky jaguars and ferocious caimans.
It’s not all about the pursuit of adrenaline here though. Time in Lima can be spent enjoying the city’s notable foodie scene, sipping on Pisco sours, and losing yourself in Peru’s history behind the doors of Lima’s museums that reveal the country’s extraordinary stories.
