Holidays to the Seychelles, Indian Ocean
Say hello to paradise – over one hundred scarcely populated islands, gorgeous beaches and breath-taking views wherever you look. Off the east coast of Africa, in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles is known for its picturesque granite rocks throughout the islands, and you cannot help but take photos of the unique geographical features.
Island hopping is one of the best ways to explore the Seychelles. Visit the more popular islands of Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Denis, each unique in their own way. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Vallée de Mai on the island of Praslin and search for the endangered Seychelles black parrot. The Vallée de Mai is also home to the rare coco de mer palm, the world’s largest coconut that has to be seen to be believed. Climb to the top of Morne Blanc in the Morne Seychellois National Park where your hike will be rewarded by breath-taking views over Mahé and its surrounding blue coastline.
Experience an amazing abundance of colourful marine life wherever you snorkel or dive in the warm tropical waters and especially in some of the many marine national parks. Encounters with turtles and dolphins are unforgettable experiences; hawksbill turtles feel so unthreatened in the Seychelles that they come ashore in broad daylight to lay their eggs.
It’s likely you'll see some of the famous Aldabra giant tortoises that call the islands home during your visit. Once found across many of the Indian Ocean islands, this tortoise species is one of the world's largest and you may be lucky enough to meet Jonathan, thought to be the world's oldest living giant tortoise at an impressive 185 years old!
With landscapes filled with lush forests, waterfalls and tranquil beaches, a holiday to the Seychelles is simply out of this world.
